Stapels (stacking) explores simplicity in technique by translating paper into porcelain through stacking and folding. Intuitively constructed objects emerge from paper studies, with color, composition, and subtle deviations from symmetry at their core. By preserving the qualities of paper in porcelain, a dynamic tension arises between balance, weight, and fragility, where sculpture and functionality remain in constant motion.

Starting from paper studies, Anne designs characters through a process of stacking, with colour and composition serving as guiding principles. Intuitively, she explores what constitutes the right form for her, finding it in a subtle deviation from symmetry. She then continues to stack and experiment with porcelain, pushing the material to its limits while simultaneously seeking to preserve the qualities of paper. The fragility of porcelain heightens the tension between balance, weight, and instability. Within the world Anne creates, the boundary between sculpture and functionality remains in constant motion. The combination of materials and techniques results in a medium of its own, allowing the objects to feel both playful and familiar.
